Peca, which is riddled with the trenches of former lead and zinc mines. In one of the hollows of Pec, a good-hearted Carinthian King Matjaz, who was still supposed to stay there, hid from enemies. The highest peak of Peca is the Kordeževa glava (2126 m), which is the easternmost two-thousandth in Slovenia and offers a magnificent 360-degree view. This starting point is the lower station of the gondola, on the Austrian side, known especially in winter, when hordes and hordes of ski enthusiasts ride to the top of the ski slope. It will take you to an altitude of 1680 m where you will exit. Now the exploration begins. Along the slopes of Pece you can discover step by step the secrets of the forests and the loud silence of the mountain and ingest all the greenery of the slopes and meadows. There will be plenty of free time available so that you can choose the right hiking tour on your own, of course, based on your preferences and abilities. Our experience is a guarantee that you will enjoy immensely wherever you go! There are many mountain huts on the mountain (Hütte) where you can have a real mountain tea or some of Carinthian desserts (Germknödel, šmorn,…) for an extra charge. The main dish will also be taken care of. Before heading to the valley, we will dine at one of the huts on Peja. For an extra charge, you can drive to the nearby Pliberk, the medieval center, where you will have a tour of the local brewery with a tasting of home-made beer. Pleasantly refreshed you will say goodbye to Carinthia with the thought of returning as soon as possible. Servus!
