A tasty journey through time

Enter the magical and ancient world: the kingdom of king Matjaž. Enter the world of kings, princesses, princes and knights. You will meet king Matjaž, farmers, rafters and miners. You will see the castles, monasteries and of course a wonderful blue-green nature. Strike out with us on a short “journey through time” into the past: for example with a visit of an abandoned mine, with a cooking course or while enjoying the most common food of the miners – buckwheat “žganci”. From this journey you will surely bring home some exciting adventures and memories.

1. day:

Arrival and check in. Dinner.

2. day:

After breakfast we will head for the educational water path in Feistritz bei Bleiburg, where water becomes an adventure and the lime-burning becomes an important theme. After lunch, we will head for the Info center Had’n, where we will be introduced to the Carinthian culinary specialty “Had’n”. Since the beginning, the miners have been including the healthy buckwheat flour into their basic foodstuffs. While drinking coffee we will try two buckwheat products: buckwheat “žganci” and buckwheat cake. On our way back, we will drive on the Salamistrasse (Salami Street) in the area of Ebendorf.

3. day:

Breakfast. We head for the underground world of Peca, to the abandoned mine. During the 2 hours conducted tour we will see how the miners used to live and work. The program continues with a traditional “miner’s snack”. Then a tour through the private brewery in Bleiburg with beer and goulash tasting.

4. day:

After breakfast, we will spend the day in the nearby village Libeliče. We will start with a cooking course on a farm in a village Libeliče. On the menu will be the “koroška Trenta” which will be filled with common effort. With “Trenta” in the oven, the we will head for the village for sightseeing. Then we taste the “Trenta”. After that, we will be shown around at the Tourist farm Klančnik. We will also taste the homemade products – salami and apple cider. Those who would like to see more animals can take a ride in a small train to the hunting lodge.

5. day:

Breakfast. Checkout from the hotel. Return home.
