While going for a relaxing hike, you will hear the stories of Piran's surroundings, admire open views and taste delicious local food. Our hidden gems are still not that well marked and known to be easily accessible for every traveler. but that is now possible with our offer: An exclusive series of six easy walks with tasting gastronomic treasures of Istria with breathtaking panoramic views.
Just the thought of walking by the magnificent cliffs, going through beautiful olive groves and enjoying incredible scenic views from above is very appealing to all of us. But this is not just a fantasy anymore, these footpaths really exist and are waiting to be discovered by you! Take a breath of fresh sea air while exploring the hidden gems of Mediterranean spinneys.
Join us for an exclusive series of some of our hidden gems! In a series of six easy walks you will enjoy the gastronomic treasures of Istria, and be blown away by the breathtaking panoramic views that the trails have to offer. You can experience all of this through our guided Piran's walking tours with tasting local food while getting to know the paradise of the most touristic region of Slovenija.
If you enjoy an active way of life, love green scenery and are interested in local food with the local, knowledgeable people, this selection of Piran’s Footpaths with Tasting is perfect for you. It is an amazing opportunity to make new memories and bask in everything nature has to offer in spring and autumn.

SPRING 2020: MARCH, APRIL, MAY; MONDAYS; FROM 10 AM TO 2 PM
Piran will present itself in a different light as we embrace the city in a way that the walls used to. This photogenic city is even more beautiful when looked at from above. Although the path is mildly strenuous in its climb, the view is well worth it, as we will admire the town from an entirely new perspective.
Don’t worry, after the hike, we won't leave you thirsty nor hungry. You'll receive one complimentary water (0,5l) and we'll stop in Gostišče Pirat for an fish pate called Bakala and shellfish called Kapesante in a company with a glass of exquisite Slovenian Wine. We'll listen to and possibly dance to Istrian music.
SPRING 2020: MARCH, APRIL, MAY; TUESDAYS; FROM 10 AM TO 2 PM
The close proximity to the sea gives this tour a special charm. From the cosmopolitan Portorož, we will climb up the hill and admire the Strunjan valley, the lively Portorož beach and the diverse cultural heritage that surrounds us. The climb will reward us with a unique open view.
Don’t worry, after the hike, we won't leave you thirsty or hungry. We will provide you a complimentary bottle of water (0,5l.) Our last stop will be at the small family-owned wine cellar, where we will take part in a blindfold taste of their homemade wine. The most popular are Refošk (red) and Malvazija (white). By utilizing your senses, you will be the judge which wine suits you most. In the end, we will make a toast with the chosen wine in the restaurant Boem in Beli Križ and prepare and taste istrian minestrone. By the taste you can try all ingridients which are inside the traditional dish.
SPRING 2020: MARCH, APRIL, MAY; WEDNESDAYS, FROM 10 AM TO 2PM
This time we will step into a different world and embrace the green part of Portorož, the Seča peninsula. We will visit an international exhibition of stone sculptures in the open air, Forma Viva, and enjoy its calming effects and the ease of its surroundings. Once again, we will be enchanted with a lovely view, this time of Portorož, the salt pans, and a unique bridge over the canal of St. Jernej with old wooden ships.
Don’t worry, after the hike, we won't leave you thirsty or hungry. You'll receive a complimentary bottle of water (0,5l) and we'll stop for refreshments in Seča at the farm Gramona. Here we will taste their unique olive oil with citrus flavours orange and lemon. This homemade olive spread is extremely tasty on a slice of bread which you can also soak in fresh olive oil with pickled olives on the side. It will really get your taste-buds flowing.
Our host, Nina, will share her story of the farm and familiarize us with the methods of harvesting and processing this liquid gold. Accompanying activities will be olive harvesting or observing olive pruning.
SPRING 2020: MARCH, APRIL, MAY; THURSDAYS; FROM 10 AM TO 2 PM
The largest settlement of the Piran municipality is Lucija. Here we will discover more picturesque surroundings. On this circular footpath, we will travel from Lucija to the Strunjan region. We will take a walk by the sunny olive grove that spreads over the Lucan hill, where our view will reach across the Seča peninsula all the way to Sečovlje saltpans in the foreground. At the highest points, we can also see the beauty of northern Croatian Istria region.

You’ll receive a complimentary bottle of water (0,5)l and enjoy our Istrian breakfast in the lovely meadow, which brings ‘’Šavrinka’’-women, who in the past taked care for the whole family. Animation is followed by a short quiz about Istrian cuisine.
SPRING 2020: MARCH, APRIL, MAY; FRIDAYS, FROM 10 AM TO 2 PM
This lovely footpath through the Strunjan regional park is equipped with many informative signs. It leads us up to the edge of one of the highest cliffs in the Adriatic Sea and offers a stunning view from the Strunjan Križ over the most beautiful beach of Slovenian coast, called Mesečev zaliv (bay). The path will lead us down to the church of St. Mary’s revelations, which represents the most important peregrine spot in Slovene Istria. We will visit the only sea lagoon, Stjuža, and walk through the avenue of mighty pines.
Don’t worry, after the hike, we won't leave you thirsty nor hungry. We'll provide you a bottle of water (0,5)l and will stop at the Giassi eco farm in Strunjan. The owner, Franco, will show us his plantation of persimmons and artichokes and will share with us various dishes and drinks made right there in the plantation.
SPRING 2020: MARCH, APRIL, MAY; SATURDAYS, FROM 10 AM TO 2 PM
From Beli Križ this path will take us through the forest and the sea to Fiesa lake. We will go towards Pacug and down to Strunjan. Throughout the forest, we will have glances of scenic views over the Strunjan saltpans, the sea lagoon Stjuža and mollusk farm. Following our walk through the forest, a tunnel of the former narrow-gauge track will lead us to the more vivacious Portorož. The road is now a pleasant cycling tour called The Trail of Health and Friendship.

Concluding the tour, we will stop at Prego, a restaurant in Portorož and treat ourselves with Istrian pasta, Fuži with truffles, and a glass of wine while we continue to learn about the origin of the goods before getting to our table.
